A few miners keep this tradition alive and continue tomine for coal within the boundary of the forest. This dvd looks at both current and past mining operations. Four mines are seen in operatiion, Monument Colliery, Cannop Drift, Hopewell Colliery and Haywood Drift but many other locations are seen throughout the forest with non-operational footage. There are no locos featured on this production as all the mines use railways that are either hand hauled or cable hauled to transport coal to the surface.
